Managing Deals

Deals represent sales opportunities and business transactions. Track them from open to won or lost.

Creating a Deal

  1. Navigate to Deals in the sidebar.
  2. Click New Deal.
  3. Select a Deal Type (e.g., "Software License", "Consulting"). You must have at least one deal type configured in Settings first.
  4. Fill in the deal details:
    • Title — A descriptive name for the deal.
    • Contact — Link to an existing contact (optional).
    • Project — Link to a project (optional).
    • Custom fields — Any fields defined on the selected deal type.
  5. Click Save.

Deal Status

Every deal has one of three statuses:

  • Open — The deal is active and in progress.
  • Won — The deal was successfully closed.
  • Lost — The deal didn't work out.

You can update a deal's status from the deal detail page. Won and Lost deals remain visible in the deals table and can be filtered by status.

Deal Types

Deal types define the structure for a category of deals. Each deal type has:

  • Name — A label for the category (e.g., "Software License", "Consulting Project").
  • Custom fields — Additional data fields specific to this type of deal.

Creating a Deal Type

  1. Go to Settings → Deal Types.
  2. Click New Deal Type.
  3. Enter a name for the deal type.
  4. Add any custom fields you need.
  5. Click Save.

You must create at least one deal type before you can create deals.

Editing a Deal Type

Changes to a deal type's custom fields apply to all existing deals of that type immediately. Removing a field does not delete existing data — the field simply stops appearing in the UI.

Custom Fields on Deals

Custom fields let you capture data specific to your business. See Custom Fields for the full list of supported field types.

Deals Table

The deals view shows all deals in a table. You can:

  • Filter by status (Open / Won / Lost).
  • Filter by deal type or linked contact.
  • Sort by title, status, or creation date.
  • Click any row to open the full deal detail page.

Deal Detail Page

The deal detail page shows:

  • Overview — Deal title, status, linked contact, linked project, and all custom fields (inline editable).
  • Tasks — Tasks associated with this deal.
  • Notes & Activity — Activity timeline with notes and a history of changes.

Deleting a Deal

Open the deal detail page and use the actions menu to delete. Deleting a deal also removes associated notes. Tasks linked to the deal are unlinked but not deleted. This action is permanent.
